Week 2 BALT 4361 (Reconsidering major discussion)
I have just finished reading Dr Todd Kelsey document on the impact of AI on jobs in the future and how we can prevent ourselves getting replaced by AI. I must say that this document was very informative and made me really think about my major which is Accounting and the job that I would have in the future. I would definitely try and look more into AI and jobs related to it. I know the jobs may not be affected now, but it sure will in the future.

With the increase in advanced technology, productivity in the accounting profession has increased and some tasks which used to be handled manually include data entry and paperwork. This liberation has enabled accountants to work on more strategical and consultancy services. Thus, although advanced technology contributes to process efficiency, such basic feelings and professional experience cannot be compensated by technology.
I think new accountants should embrace automation and go for advisory services to improve on the client relations, revenue, and deliver distinctive value. If one has to transition well, he or she needs to tap into human factors such as knowledge and experience and the interrelationships within the business environment as well as adopt the technological advancements that offer efficiency and effectiveness.
